Our kidney specialists treat a variety of conditions, including:
- Acute renal failure
- Acute tubular necrosis (damage to the kidneys' tubule cells)
- Hydronephrosis (swelling from a urine build-up)
- Kidney cancer
- Kidney diseases, such as IgA nephropathy and renal disease
- Kidney failure
- Kidney infections

- Nephrotic syndrome (the body excreting too much protein in the urine)
- Polycystic kidneys (when cysts develop within the kidneys)
- Renovascular hypertension (high blood pressure from narrowing arteries to the kidneys)
Our nephrology program
Our nephrologists use a variety of surgical and nonsurgical techniques to treat kidney issues. If you require kidney surgery, you may also work with one of our urologists, as the urinary system includes the kidneys.
Kidney diagnostic tests and treatments
We offer a wide range of diagnostic tests and treatment options. Some of the imaging services we use to assess kidney complications include:
- Kidney ultrasound
- Kidneys, ureter, bladder (KUB) X-rays
- Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA)
After diagnosing a kidney condition, we can move forward with a treatment plan tailored to your needs. This can include:
- Dialysis (blood filtering to treat kidney failure)
- Kidney transplant
- Lithotripsy (using shock waves or a laser to break down kidney stones)
- Nephrectomy (removal of one or both kidneys)
